CHICAGO (July 3, 2018) – Former Loyola University Chicago standouts
Milton Doyle (Chicago Ill./Marshall/Kansas) and
Donte Ingram (Chicago, Ill./Simeon) will be competing in NBA Summer League play in Las Vegas later this week. Doyle will be playing for the Brooklyn Nets, while Ingram will suit up for the Chicago Bulls.
Doyle, who graduated in 2017, spent the 2017-18 season playing for both the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League and the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA, becoming the first Rambler since 1987 to appear in a NBA game. Doyle closed out his Loyola career ranked eighth in program history with 1,606 points, and was a First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree as a senior after averaging 15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game. In 45 games with the Long Island Nets this season, the 6-foot-4 guard accounted for 20.5 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 4.4 apg and 1.5 spg, and he also saw action in 10 games for Brooklyn, tallying 3.4 ppg, 1.8 rpg and 1.0 apg.
Ingram just completed his Loyola career, graduating in May, and led Loyola to 89 wins in his four seasons in Rogers Park, including a school-record 32 victories in 2017-18, when the Ramblers reached the NCAA Final Four for the first time since 1963. One of only 11 players in Loyola history to record over 1,200 points and 600 rebounds, the 6-foot-6 swing man was a Second Team All-MVC selection as a senior and also was a First Team All-District 16 pick by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He put up 11.0 ppg, a team-high 6.4 rpg and 1.6 apg for the year and hit one of the biggest shots in Loyola postseason history, draining a three-pointer with less than one second remaining to propel the Maroon and Gold to a thrilling 64-62 victory over Miami in the NCAA First Round.
Doyle and the Nets open Summer League action on Friday, July 6 when they battle the Orlando Magic at 4 p.m. CT on NBA TV. Ingram and the Bulls tip off play Saturday, July 7, when the take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
