Loyola Men’s Basketball To Play Maryland This Season

Ramblers and Terrapins will meet in Baltimore on December 8

CHICAGO (August 2, 2018) – For the second time in as many seasons, the Loyola University Chicago men's basketball team will face an opponent from the Big Ten Conference when it plays the University of Maryland at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore on December 8. Last season, Loyola faced Michigan in the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Ramblers and Terrapins.

Maryland welcomes back three starters from last season's squad that posted a 19-13 ledger, and head coach Mark Turgeon has brought in a recruiting class that has been ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation.

Loyola, which is coming off of a school-record 32-win season, reached the NCAA Final Four in 2017-18 and returns three starters from that squad. The Ramblers' non-conference slate for 2018-19 includes games versus Richmond (Nov. 19) and either Boston College or Wyoming (Nov. 21) as part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off, as well as a rematch of last year's NCAA Sweet 16 thriller versus Nevada (Nov. 27). The complete schedule will be announced later this summer.
