ST. LOUIS, Mo. (August 27, 2018) – Jenna Szczesny (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Barrington), a senior on the Loyola University Chicago women's soccer team, has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This marks the second weekly league honor of her career.
Szczesny found the back of the net with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation as part of Friday's 2-1 defeat at Loyola Marymount. The Hoffman Estates, Ill. native went on to provide the assist on sophomore
Kat Stephens' second-half tally in the Ramblers' 3-1 victory over CSU Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon.
A Preseason All-MVC selection, Szczesny currently has a team-high seven points (2 goals, 3 assists) to her name through the season's first two weeks. The senior's point total also leads The Valley.
Loyola returns home this weekend for a pair on contests. The Ramblers will host Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday at 5 p.m. before welcoming Oklahoma State to Loyola Soccer Park for a 1 p.m. Sunday matinee.
