Loyola Moves Up One Spot in AVCA Poll, now No. 8

LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 7, 2019) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its week one DI-II Coaches Poll on Monday (Jan. 7). The Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 8. They were previously No. 9 to begin the season. 
 
The Ramblers are one of five MIVA teams to be voted into this version's Top-15, with Ball State joining the pack at No. 14. The other MIVA programs moved up one spot with the exception to Lewis, who now sit at No. 9 after being leapfrogged by Ohio State and Loyola. 
 
The Maroon and Gold opened the season with a marquee matchup right out of the gate against No. 4 UC Irvine. The Anteaters have moved up to No. 3 due to their five-set victory. The Ramblers travel to Bristol, Tenn. this weekend (Jan. 11-12) to take on Mount Olive and the defending CVAC Champion King Tornado.
