CHICAGO – The Ramblers had another wicked weekend on the track, posting six program top-10 times and 25 personal records at the Blue Demon Alumni Invite. All six top-10 times fell in the men's and women's 3,000m, while PRs spread out over both days of competition.
Saturday night ended with three top-10 times, a first-place finish, and seven PRs in the men's 3,000m.
Jason Clayton led Loyola Chicago placing first with a time of 8:00.68.
Francois Guilhot and
Gabe Smit snatched second and third, respectively. Both clocked new bests, while Guilhot's time of 8:01.48 landed sixth all-time and Smit's took over seventh all-time.
Fionn Harrington ran a two-second PR at 8:13.50 landing 10
th on the all-time list. Also clocking PRs in the men's 3,000m was
Woody Jerome (8:13.59),
Cael Mulholland (8:13.93),
Jake Phillips (8:14.21), and
Nate Boutin (8:17.05). Phillips shaved off 14 seconds from his previous record.
On the women's side,
Emma Watcke took off out of the gates, taking 16 seconds off her PR. Watcke's time of 9:32.95 landed fourth on the program's top-10 list. She placed third overall with
Grace Kuhn on her heels in fourth. Kuhn's time of 9:35.05 was seven seconds faster for a new best and moved her up to fifth all-time for Loyola.
Delia McDade-Clay posted the final top-10 time of the night running a 10 second PR at 9:38.41. It took over the ninth spot on the all-time list.
Roisin Treacy (9:55.90) and
Grace Maurer (10:03.88) both logged new PRs. Maurer took 11 seconds off her former best.
In the men's mile race,
Trent Anderson and
Stephen Lavey clocked PRs. Anderson ran a time of 4:13.78 finishing fourth overall, while Lavey came in at 4:18.64.
Eileen Seebon and
Julia Isham made their mile debuts to set PRs. Seebon clocked 4:57.98, while Isham trailed with a time of 5:05.55.
James Howell matched his 800m PR with a time of 1:54.04.
In Saturday's unseeded events, six Ramblers clocked PRs. The women's mile featured three bests led by
Ali Gillooly who took second overall in the mile. At nearly two-seconds faster, she ran a time of 5:05.51.
Autumn Dushack (5:22.31) and
Eva Bednard (5:34.26) paced themselves to new personal best times. Dushack was nearly 17 seconds faster, while Bednard cut off four seconds.
All three Ramblers in the unseeded men's mile finished with new PRs.
Kyle Knutson led the pack in third with a time of 4:25.58.
Gabe Ryan grabbed seventh at 4:26.34, while
Aidan Collins ran a time of 4:42.23.
The Blue Demon Alumni Classic got started Friday night with two PRs from
Jayla Johnson and
Madi McLain. In the 60m, Johnson posted a time of 8.14 for fifth in her heat.
McLain won her 800m heat with a time of 2:27.99, which was a four-second PR.
The Ramblers will take a week off before splitting time at two meets Feb. 9-10. Loyola will compete at the GVSU Big Meet and the Wisconsin Windy City Invite.
