Hired in June, 2014, Jay Malcolm is in his first full year as Loyola's Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Since his hiring, Malcolm has already served on Loyola's University Senate, which works closely with other shared governance bodies at the University and aims to provide a forum for the deliberation of university-wide issues of concern.

Malcolm came to Loyola after three years at East Carolina, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Pirates' compliance office during his tenure, monitoring recruiting and eligibility, among other duties, for their 19-sport athletic department which was a member of Conference USA.

Prior to his time in Greenville, N.C., Malcolm spent just over a year at his alma mater, Xavier, as an Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Support Services, where he served as the academic advisor for the Musketeers' men's basketball and men's and women's golf programs.

He got his professional start at Xavier as well as an intern in its compliance office before spending time as an Assistant Academic Coordinator at North Carolina State. He left Raleigh for Orlando to serve as the Assistant Director of Compliance at Central Florida for three years before landing the job at East Carolina.

Malcolm graduated from Xavier in 2003 with a degree in Sport Management and earned his Master's in Sport Administration from the Cincinnati school in 2006.
