Nick Shammas joined Loyola Chicago's Athletic Department in the summer of 2023. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Shammas is a 2020 graduate of Michigan State University where he worked in the Spartan Athletic Communications office as a student assistant.
After graduating from MSU, he spent two years as an Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Regis University in Denver. While with the Rangers, he was the primary contact for the women's golf, women's soccer, softball, and men's/women's basketball programs. Additionally, during a transition period within the department, he acted as Interim Director of Athletic Communications, overseeing 12 sports, game day workers and student assistants.
Before working at Loyola, Shammas served in a similar role at Northern Illinois where he oversaw volleyball, wrestling, women's golf, and softball.
Along with his collegiate athletic communications experience, Shammas has worked in public relations game day roles with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears.
