Jan. 27, 2007

Notre Dame, Ind. - Loyola University Chicago sprinter Nick Herold improved his school-record 60-meter dash record by .01 to 6.94 to highlight an improved Rambler performance on Friday night at the Notre Dame Invitational.

Herold, a native of Oakdale, Minn., took first place in the event and now owns the League's top performance in this young season. Herold's fourth-place 22.15 effort in the 200-meter dash also qualifies him as a League leader as well.

Marcia Faustin led the women's team with an impressive performance in the high jump and anchored a top relay finish. Faustin jumped 5'5" for seventh place then ran a 57.3 split to lead off Loyola's second-place 4x400-meter relay (4:03.58).

Loyola hosts its annual Battle of the Boards event at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in Alumni Gym.
