Romeoville, Ill. - After a five-week hiatus, Loyola's track and field teams resumed their 2011 indoor season today at the Dick Pond Invitational in Romeoville, Ill. Natalie LeFlore's personal-best mark in the triple jump and the Ramblers placing three runners in the top six in the men's 400-meter dash were among the highlights.

LeFlore cemented her spot as one of Loyola's top jumpers with another solid performance in the triple jump. Her leap of 11.18m (36-08.25) was over four inches better than her previous top jump and lifted her to a second-place finish in the event. On the track, Brianna Walker took third in the 55m (7.53) while Sophia Holy brought home sixth place in the 400m in 1:06.90.

Sophomore Candice Carajohn had a busy day, competing both on the track and in the field. Carajohn set a personal-best in the 55m hurdles (9.46) and the high jump, where she finished fourth (1.50m, 4-11.05).

On the men's side, the trio of Mike Wetzel, Bay Abbott and Donte Prisby led the way, taking three of the top six spots in the 400m. Wetzel led the way with a time of 50.89 en route to finishing second, less than a second ahead of third-place Abbott (51.83) while Prisby secured sixth place with a time of 52.10. For Abbott, it was one of two top-four finishes at the meet, as he posted a 23.49 in the 200m to finish fourth.

The Ramblers return to action next Saturday when they compete at the Illinois Classic in Champaign.
