"Really proud of the guys this week," Loyola Director of Golf Erik Hoops commented. "In all their lives they probably will never play a course in that tough of conditions again. They fought hard, never quit and, most importantly, we had a lot of fun. As always, we will build off the positives and hopefully fix some of the negatives to have a great weekend at Bradley!"
Buckley and Mleko led the way during the final round for the Maroon & Gold, each carding their low round of the event on the par 70, 7,198-yard course at the Chambers Bay Golf Club. Buckley's 77 saw the Novi, Mich. product move into a tie for 77th at 246 (87-82-77), while Mleko finished just a stroke off of his career low en route to finishing 90th with a 256 (90-89-77).
Freshman Orion Yamat capped off a successful two-day stay in the Pacific Northwest with his second consecutive round of 79 today. The Niles, Ill. native ended play with a 54-hole total of 235 (77-79-79), tied for 35th. Senior PJ Riner fired an 80, his top round of the event, to earn a share of 82nd at 249 (81-88-80), while freshman Ben Olson rounded out the Rambler lineup for the day with an 84 to finish in 89th with a 253 (82-87-84).
