Aidan Megally (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South), graduate student
Marcel Kampman (Wellington, New Zealand/Scots College) and junior
Justin Sukow (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan/South Carolina) have all been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region teams, announced by the organization on Monday. Megally earned First Team accolades, while Kampman and Sukow notched Third Team honors.
Megally recently wrapped up his outstanding career with an unforgettable senior season that led the Ramblers to 11 victories. The Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year started in all 20 matches and scored a team-best 10 goals that ranked second in the MVC. The Park Ridge native also beat the Loyola single-season record for shots with 73 and tallied four assists and three gamewinners. Megally is the seventh Rambler in history to earn United Soccer Coaches First Team honors.
Kampman made a splash in his first season with the Ramblers, playing every single minute of all 20 matches this season. The goalkeeper posted 44 saves, including a .688 save percentage and earned All-MVC honorable mention. He also recorded seven shutouts this season, which tied for second in the MVC.
Also in his first season with the Maroon & Gold, Sukow proved to be an offensive force, starting in all 20 matches and scoring nine goals. The midfielder recorded a team-best five assists and notched three gamewinners. Sukow earned First Team All-MVC honors and put 16 shots on goal this season.
Loyola finished 11-5-4 to cap a memorable 2019 season that saw the Ramblers advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in history and the second time under head coach
