CHICAGO (August 16, 2019) – Aundre Jackson (Kennedale, Texas/Kennedale/McLennan), a former forward at Loyola University Chicago who was a key cog on the Ramblers team that advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 2018, has signed a professional contract to play for BC Kyiv Basket in the Ukraine Superleague. Jackson spent the 2018-19 season, his first as a pro, playing for Skallagrimur in Iceland.
Â
Last season, BC Kyiv Basket went 15-13 but advanced to the Superleague Finals before falling to Khimik.Â
Â
Jackson, a 6-foot-5 forward, was dominant in his first season as a professional, averaging impressive all-around numbers of 19.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 21 contests for Skallagrimur in Iceland.Â
Â
During his two-year stint at Loyola, Jackson left his mark, finishing his career as the Ramblers' all-time leader in field goal percentage (.620), while averaging 12.4 ppg and 3.6 rpg over 70 appearances. As a junior in 2016-17, he set a Loyola single-season record by connecting on a staggering 66.9 percent of his field goal attempts, putting up 14.6 ppg, mostly in a reserve role.Â
Â
In helping the Ramblers to their unforgettable NCAA tournament run in 2017-18, Jackson contributed 11.0 ppg and 3.2 rpg, knocking down 57.6 percent of his shots from the field, while scoring in double figures on 21 occasions. During the NCAA tournament, he netted a team-high 16 points in a win against Tennessee and his three-pointer with a little over two minutes remaining in regulation gave the Ramblers the lead for good in a Sweet 16 victory over Nevada.
Â
The 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Sixth Man of the Year is one of a handful of players from Loyola's Final Four team to already be under contract to play professional basketball in 2019-20, joining
Clayton Custer (Poland) and
Marques Townes (Spain).Â
