CHICAGO (May 13, 2022) – Lorenza Martinez (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels), a senior on the Loyola University Chicago women's golf team, has been selected as one of 10 spring sport recipients of the Missouri Valley Conference State Farm Good Neighbor Award, Commissioner Jeff Jackson announced today.
Â
Martinez recently wrapped up an impressive 2021-22 campaign by earning a share of fourth place at the MVC Women's Golf Championship in Kirkwood, Mo.  The Menomonee Falls, Wis. native, who closed the year with a 77.7 stroke average, was named to The Valley's All-Tournament Team as she matched the top individual finish by a Rambler at the MVC Championship in program history.
Â
Currently majoring in marketing in Loyola's Quinlan School of Business, Martinez was also recognized for her work in the classroom, taking home her third MVC Scholar-Athlete Team honor. She is also a three-time Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar.
Â
Martinez is expected to be one of eight returning letterwinners for Loyola head women's golf coach
Carly Werwie in 2022-23.  That group includes the team's top five leaders in individual stroke average. Â
