More NBA Workouts On Tap For Lucas Williamson

Loyola guard to showcase skills for Clippers, Knicks and Bulls prior to NBA Draft

CHICAGO (June 8, 2022) – The list of NBA teams that Lucas Williamson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) works out for continues to grow. With nine workouts already under his belt, the former Loyola University Chicago men's basketball star will display his skill set to the Los Angeles Clippers (June 9), New York Knicks (June 14) and Chicago Bulls (June 18).

Over the last few weeks, Williamson, an elite perimeter defender, has been invited to work out for the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets.

A two-time Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year selection during his collegiate career, Williamson finished his Loyola tenure as the program's all-tine winningest player (124) and helped the Ramblers to four postseason appearances, including three NCAA tournaments. The defensive stopper became the first player to be named MVC Defensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons since Tekele Cotton (Wichita State) in 2014 and 2015.

This season, Williamson took on an even greater role at the offensive end of the floor and provided 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while starting all 33 contests and shooting 39 percent from three-point territory. He was even more impressive in Valley action, where he hiked his scoring output to 16.3 ppg, earning both First Team All-MVC and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District 16 recognition.

A three-time MVC All-Defensive Team selection, Williamson finished his collegiate career with 1,333 points and 574 rebounds and is one of only 23 players in program history to total over 1,000 points and 500 boards. He ranks second in Loyola history with 223 three-point field goals made and 190 steals.

Loyola went 25-8 in 2021-22 and won its third MVC tournament crown in the last five years, while also making its third trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2018.
