MUNCIE, IND. (September 2, 2022) – Following a strong second round by graduate student
Tyler Anderson, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team finds themselves in a share of third place following day one of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. Anderson's second-round 72 capped off a seven-over 147 (75-72) day for him.
The Ramblers as a whole shot a 36-hole score of 581 (290-291) that puts them in a three-way tie with Butler (283-298) and Atlantic 10 rival Dayton (293-288). Wright State tops the field at even par (277-283=561), putting them five shots clear of host Ball State (282-283=565) in second place.
Senior
Timmy Crawford paced the Maroon & Gold overall, sitting in a tie for 12
th on the leaderboard. Crawford capitalized on a strong first-round 71 to set the low round of the day for the Ramblers while leading the entire field in pars recorded to shoot a 144 (71-73) across day one. The freshman pairing of
Ryan Walsh and
Sebastian Kasun performed well in their Rambler debuts, each shooting a 146 to tie for 20
th. Freshman
Charlie Kulwin was just one shot behind them, notching a 147 (73-74) to join Anderson in a tie for 29
th.
The Ramblers resume play on Saturday morning, teeing off from holes one and ten starting at 8:30 a.m.
