"Obviously a little disappointed with how we wrapped up this week," said men's head coach
Erik Hoops. "We had a decent chance today to put together a solid finish and just got into a couple of rough stretches around the harder parts of the course. We put ourselves a little behind the 8-ball yesterday getting started but did a great job of recovering with a solid round two."
Freshman
Sebastian Kasun was the top finisher for the Maroon & Gold, placing in a tie for 15
th with a 217 (70-73-74) after shooting a season-low 70 the day prior. Senior
Timmy Crawford ended his week with a final-round 76 to give him a share of 22
nd (77-67-76=220). Senior
Zach Walsh was one stroke behind Crawford in his final round, carding a 77 to give put him in 45
th place (78-73-77=228). The freshmen pair of
Ryan Walsh (T-69; 80-74-80=234) and
Dori Lee (T-72; 79-76-80=235) both carded an 80 in their final rounds to finish just a stroke apart.
"We're back to work on a short week on our way to Cleveland," Hoops added. "I'm still glad to see we've got multiple guys able to shoot good numbers. It's clear when we get multiple guys to click in a round, we've got what we need to compete. We just need to put them together at the same time."
The Ramblers are back in action next week, October 3-4, when they take part in the Tom Tontimonia Invitational in Westlake, Ohio.
