Bloomington, Ind. – Behind a pair of top-3 finishes in the women's and men's mile runs, the Loyola University Chicago track & field team wrapped up Day 1 of competition at the Indiana Relays.

Fran Hendrickson shaved nearly six seconds off her previous personal best in the women's mile, crossing the line in a time of 5:00.61 to finish third overall.

In the men's mile,
Ryan Martins finished runner-up in the event with a PR time of 4:11.63, just over four seconds faster than his previous best time in the event.

Jayla Johnson won her heat in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.91 to advance to Saturday's finals in the event with the third-fastest time in the field.

Madi McLain was in action in the women's 600m run, finishing ninth overall in a time of 1:42.56 to set a new PR by nearly three seconds.

The Ramblers are back in action on Saturday afternoon with the second and final day of the Indiana Relays.
