CHICAGO (February 11, 2023) – The Loyola track & field team was back in action Saturday afternoon, competing at the Windy City Invitational at nearby Gately Park. Eight Ramblers were in action, with seven of the eight setting personal bests and four Ramblers moving into the top-10 all-time performance list in their respective events.

Ryan Martins and
Chris Devaney dominated the men's 3000m run, claiming the top two spots in the event. Martins posted a time of 7:56.12 to win the individual title while Devaney was hot on his heels, finishing second with a final time of 7:56.32 to place second overall. With the performances, Martins now has the second-fastest time in program history in the event while Devaney ranks third all-time.

Gabe Smit set a PR in the men's mile, posting a time of 4:05.87 to place sixth overall and set the sixth fastest time in Loyola history.
Jason Clayton was also in action in the mile, setting a new PR with a time of 4:09.88.

Nora Wollen was the fourth Rambler to move into the Loyola all-time performance list, placing ninth in the women's 3000m with a PR time of 9:45.36, the eighth-best time in program history. Teammate
Grace Jostock was running alongside Wollen in the 3000m, posting a time of 9:52.17 to set a new personal best.

Miguel Abaitua was the eighth and final Rambler in action Saturday, posting a time of 1:51.56 in the men's 800m to finish seventh overall.

The Ramblers are scheduled to compete in one more meet before the conference championship next Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.
