DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 6, 2023) – Led by stellar play from senior
Timmy Crawford, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team currently sits in sixth place after 36-holes at the Daytona Invitational in Daytona Beach Florida. Crawford carded consecutive rounds under-par to be within a shot of the lead with a 138 (T-3; 68-70).
The Ramblers as a whole combined to shoot a team score of 591 (294-297), placing them in a three-way tie with Xavier (298-293) and North Dakota State (292-299).
Crawford paced the Ramblers, firing a bogey-free four-under-par 68 in his opening round, highlighted by going three-under on the back-nine. The Arlington Heights, Illinois product followed it up with an eagle on the eighth hole of his second round to post a 70.
Freshman
Charlie Kulwin ended his day with a career-low 72 in his second round to sit in a share of 26
th on the leaderboard with a 148 (76-72). The pairing of senior
Zach Walsh (75-78) and freshman
Ryan Walsh (76-77) both carded 153s to sit in a share of 62
nd while freshman
Sebastian Kasun rounded out the leaderboard with a 158 (T-93; 75-83).
The Ramblers are back in action on Tuesday morning, as the final round of the Daytona Invitational is set to get underway at 7 a.m. (CT).
