Devaney, Martins Break 31-Year Old School Record at Stanford

Buysse lands fourth on all-time list

STANFORD, Calif. (April 1, 2023) - Three Ramblers made history Friday night at the Stanford Invitational. Chris Devaney and Ryan Martins shattered a 31-year old school record in the men's 10k taking first and second, respectively, on the program's top-10 performance list. Blake Buysse's 10k time also landed in the top-five program performances.

Devaney ran a time of 28:40.40 to lead the Ramblers. He shaved off 1:47 from his pervious personal best and it was over 40 seconds faster than the program record set in 1992 by Jim Westphal.

Martins was on his tails with a time of 28:45.46. It was nearly a minute faster than his prior PR in the 10k event.

Buysse entered the meet ranking in the program's top-10. He improved on his time by 17 seconds with a run of 29:05.99. It currently sits fourth all-time on the top-10 list.

The Ramblers will return to action April 12-13 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Today's Redbird Challenge at Illinois State was canceled due to weather.
