NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 12, 2023) - A trio of Loyola indoor track & field runners were named to the 2022-23 All-Rookie Team, the A-10 office announced Wednesday afternoon. Woody Jerome, Lily Mataway, and Ali Gillooly recorded all-rookie performances in the men's 3,000, women's 5k, and women's 3,000, respectively.

In the second indoor meet of the season, Jerome competed for the Ramblers in the men's 3,000 at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite. He placed third in the event with a time of 8:23.03. It marked a personal record in the event.

Mataway set the bar high in the indoor opener. At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University, she was Loyola's fastest runner in the women's 5k. With a time of 16:30.86 she set a personal best that also landed fifth on the program's all-time list.

Rounding out the trio of honorees is Gillooly in the women's 3,000. She paced herself to a time of 10:03.67 for a personal record, nailing a top-four Loyola performance in the meet at Indiana.
