AZUSA, Calif. (April 13, 2023) - The Ramblers tipped off competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday night with the men's and women's 3k steeple event. Roisin Treacy and Gabe Smit raced for Loyola finishing with two solid performances on night one in California. 

Treacy set the bar high out of the gates for the Rambler women with a time of 11:14.05, breaking her previous best by 46 seconds. Treacy's time is also the eighth fastest time in the 3k steeple by a freshman in program history.

Smit then ran in the third heat of the men's action. He posted a time of 9:20.71 for his first finish in the event as a Rambler.
