WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA (April 14, 2023) – After 18-holes of action, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team currently sits in eighth place at the Boilermaker Invitational.
The Ramblers opened the tournament with an overall team score of 295, placing them one stroke ahead of Western Kentucky (296).
Freshman
Charlie Kulwin led the Maroon & Gold in their first round, riding an eagle on the 605-yard par-five second hole to card an even-par 71. The Chicago, Illinois product currently sits in a share of 19
th on the individual leaderboard.
Graduate student
Tyler Anderson finds himself just outside the top-25 after his first round, placing in 30
th with a 73. Senior
Timmy Crawford placed one shot behind Anderson, finishing in a tie for 42
nd with a 74, while the newly-named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week
Ryan Walsh sits in 62
nd after a first-round 77. Senior
Zach Walsh rounds out the leaderboard with a 83, placing in 74
th.
The Ramblers are back in action on Saturday morning, with 36-holes of continuous play beginning with an 8 a.m. (CT) shotgun start.
