WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA (April 15, 2023) – The Loyola University Chicago men's golf team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday, placing in twelfth at the Boilermaker Invitational.
"Obviously not the greatest finish this week," said head coach
Erik Hoops. "We really just had one bad round this week and hung with a really good field. If we can just clean up those little things in the next week and a half, we'll have a good shot in Florida."
The Ramblers finished the weekend with a combined score of 889 (295-302-292), shaving off ten strokes between their second and third rounds. Host school Purdue took the team title with an 822 (281-273-268) while Oklahoma's Jase Summy (69-67-66) took individual medalist honors with a 202.
Tied at the top of the team leaderboard inn 36
th for the Maroon & Gold with matching 218s were freshman
Charlie Kulwin (71-75-72) and senior
Timmy Crawford (74-76-68), with the latter carding the Ramblers' low round of the weekend with a final round 68.

Zach Walsh carded a pair of 73s in his second and third rounds to shave off ten strokes from his opening round to come home in 67
th place with a 229 (83-73-73). Graduate student
Tyler Anderson finishes his weekend with a 231 (T-69
th; 73-78-80) while freshman
Ryan Walsh ends his weekend in 73
rd (77-78-79=234).
"It was a great week for Charlie," Hoops added. "He's shown some great strides this spring and really seems to be clicking right now."
The Ramblers now turn their attention to the playoffs, competing in their first ever Atlantic 10 Championship, April 28-30, in Orlando, Florida.
