SACRAMENTO (May 24, 2023) - Three Ramblers competed Wednesday night in the NCAA West Preliminaries for Loyola track & field.
Jason Clayton ran in the men's 1,500 first round, while
Chris Devaney and
Ryan Martins participated in the men's 10k semifinal. Clayton will head to quarterfinal action Friday night.Â
Wednesday started with Clayton's second consecutive appearance in the postseason. In the first heat of the 1,500, Clayton claimed third with a time of 3:44.51. It secured him a spot in the top-24 to advance to Friday's quarterfinals.
Devaney and Martins then wrapped the night's action in the men's 10k. Devaney led the Loyola performances clocking 29:25.53. Martins followed behind at 29:50.90 in the event. Both Ramblers fell outside the top-12 and cap their 2023 campaigns at the preliminaries.
Clayton's 1,500 quarterfinal is slated for Friday at 7:15 p.m. CT in Sacramento, which can be streamed on ESPN+.
