Clemons Returns as Director of Player Development

Former Rambler standout Keith Clemons joins the Loyola bench

CHICAGO (May 31, 2023) – Former Loyola Chicago men's basketball standout Keith Clemons has returned to Rogers Park to join the Ramblers' staff as the program's Director of Player Development, head coach Drew Valentine announced Wednesday.

"Keith is the ultimate winner," said Valentine. "From high school to junior college, and most importantly as a Rambler, that's all he's done. I'm so excited for Keith to help guide our student-athletes in reaching the levels of success as a player here as he did. He brings a calming presence, high level work ethic and a high level of PRIDE in our program. Keith is a rising star and I'm really looking forward to winning more championships together."

Clemons spent the 2022-23 season as a graduate assistant at Tennessee, helping the Volunteers to a No. 4 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament and appearance in the Sweet 16.

"I am absolutely thrilled to be reuniting with the program under the leadership of Coach Valentine and joining a dedicated and passionate staff," said Clemons. "Returning home to Loyola, which holds a special place in my heart, brings a tremendous feeling of excitement. I aim to develop the athletes with my experience, impacting them both on and off the court. It is a true privilege to be back, and I am eagerly looking forward to embarking on this incredible journey."

Immediately prior to joining the Tennessee staff, Clemons played three seasons at Loyola Chicago, helping the program capture three Missouri Valley Conference championships and make two NCAA Tournament appearances—including a run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2021. Clemons capped his Loyola career as the program's all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage (.440).

Clemons began his college basketball career at Vincennes University in Indiana, where he helped the program compile a 68-5 overall record and advance to the 2018 NJCAA Final Four before ultimately capturing the NJCAA national championship—with him serving as team captain—in 2019.

A native of Norcross, Georgia, Clemons attended St. Joseph Central Catholic in Huntington, West Virginia, before spending his senior season at Wesley Christian in Allen, Kentucky.

Clemons earned his degree in Advertising/Public Relations, with cum laude honors, from Loyola Chicago in 2021. He also holds an associate's degree from Vincennes.
