CHICAGO – Outdoor track & field is underway this weekend with the Ramblers splitting the squad and heading to the Stanford Invitational and Illinois State Redbird Challenge.
Loyola Chicago will run Friday and Saturday in California and Saturday at ISU.
Last spring,
Jason Clayton and
Chris Devaney were two of three Ramblers to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary. Clayton looks to make it three straight NCAA appearances this season, while Devaney would make it in two straight seasons.
The Ramblers are coming off an indoor season where they took five first-place medals at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Jayla Johnson won the 60 m hurdles, Clayton and
Grace Kuhn swept the men's and women's 3,000m,
Francois Guilhot won the 5,000m, and the men's DMR squad took first.
This weekend opens a five-meet regular season slate before the Ramblers gear up for the A-10 Championships in May and NCAA Championships in June.
