ELMHURST, Ill. – Four Ramblers won their respective events at the Elmhurst Twilight Invitational Thursday in Elmhurst.
Emma Watcke, who won the women's 1,500m, now sits No. 3 all-time in program history with her time of 4:22.08. Additionally, four Ramblers clocked a personal record at the meet, helping fine tune the Maroon and Gold before the Atlantic 10 Championships in May.
Watcke's speed propelled the Hinsdale, Ill., native to first overall and a PR in the 1,500m. Close behind her and in second place finished
Aiden Grasse who ran 4:49.12, a PR.
Also turning in a win was
Autumn Dushack who clocked a 17:49.25 to PR in the women's 5K. The senior shaved close to a minute off her previous best to win the event.
Eva Bednard, who ran a 18:56.41, also set a PR and finished in second place. Â
Rounding out the women was
Madi McLain who ran a PR of 2:21.99 in the 800m to finish in fourth.
Jo Collins raced her way to a 2:25.37 to finish sixth.
On the men's side,
Nate Boutin earned first place in the 1500m with his time of 3:57.98, over four seconds faster than the second place finisher.
In the men's 3K,
Trent Anderson led the Ramblers in fourth with a time of 8:37.43.
Gabe Ryan and
Aidan Collins followed in sixth and tenth, respectively.
Miguel Abaitua won the 800m with his time of 1:51.49, two seconds shy of his PR.
James Howell rode his coattails in second place, clocking a 1:53.63.
Jack Slaughter came in fourth with his time of 1:55.15.
Loyola Chicago has a week of rest before it returns to action at the A-10 Championships. The event is being held in Fairfax, Va., May 4-5.
