CHICAGO – The Loyola Chicago men's basketball program mourns the loss of Loyola Athletics Hall of Famer and former basketball player Dan Connaughton. Connaughton passed away July 27, 2024 at the age of 81.
 
Connaughton was a member of the 1963 National Championship team and helped the Ramblers to a 29-2 record that season. He played for the Ramblers from 1963-65.
 
Connaughton is survived by his wife Kim, sisters Mary and Donna, children Christina, Danny, Mary, Abby, and Alyssa, and seven grandchildren.
 
A celebration of Dan's life will be held November 9, 2024 from 6-11 pm at The Colligan Lodge in Veterans Park located in Hamilton, Ohio.
