Loyola Welcomes St. Bonaventure to Gentile in Prime Time Clash

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago is back at it Tuesday night with a prime time tip-off vs. St. Bonaventure. The Ramblers have won 18 of their last 19 at home, while the Bonnies have dropped their last three road games. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m CT in Gentile Arena.

Tuesday's game can be watched on CBSSN with John Sadak (PXP) and Tre Demps (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• The Ramblers led by 17 at the half against the Hawks over the weekend, but 15 second-half free throws allowed Saint Joseph's to stay in the mix. Jayden Dawson drew a foul on a three-point attempt with two seconds left to play and drained all three at the line, helping Loyola to the win, 58-55.
• Loyola held Saint Joe's to 29.1 percent from the field, which is the best field goal percentage defense vs. an Atlantic 10 opponent since joining the league.
Sheldon Edwards Jr. led the Ramblers with 12 points. He added six boards and three assists. Dawson and Des Watson also finished in double-figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Miles Rubin tallied three blocks, moving his career total to 121. He currently ranks fourth all-time in the program record book in the category.
• Rubin moved up to 19th in the country with 2.14 blocks per game, while his 45 season total sits 23rd.
• After breaking the single-season last year with 76 blocks, Rubin's 45 currently ties ninth on the single season charts. 49 would move him up to eighth.
• Loyola scored the last seven points in the second half at George Mason last week to force overtime on the road. Despite three looks on their final possession to tie the game, the Ramblers fell, 58-53.
Francis Nwaokorie had his fifth double-figure outing of the season with a team-high 11 points. He was the lone Rambler with at least 10. It was the first game this season only one Rambler reached the double-digit mark.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a 71-47 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
The Bonnies got off to a hot start with six straight wins to open the year and sit at 17-6 overall. Five of their losses came in A-10 play as they have a 5-5 league record. Three of the losses came on the road to VCU, Duquesne, and Saint Louis. St. Bona is riding two straight wins into the week's opener after beating Dayton and Fordham last week.

Five Bonnies are averaging double-figure scoring efforts with Melvin Council Jr. leading the way at 14.4 points per game. He also has a team best 96 assists this year. He's on a 14-game streak with at least 10 points, including a season-high 24 points against Providence (Dec. 14) and Fordham (Jan. 4). He had a double-double earlier this season against Utah State with 13 points and 12 boards.

Mark Schmidt is in his 18th season at the helm with a 319-232 record with the Bonnies.

SERIES HISTORY
St. Bona leads the all-time series, 4-3. The Bonnies beat the Ramblers in the A-10 quarterfinals last year in double-overtime, 75-72.
