GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District Team on May 27 and four Ramblers of the Loyola Chicago softball team were selected. Seniors Haley Wallace, Riley Owens, Andie Broniewicz and Peyton Pepkowski are among those recognized this year.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Elected student-athletes must hold a 3.5 or above GPA while also playing a significant role in the team's success.
Wallace, a CSC Academic All-America finalist, was a unit inside the classroom, boasting a 4.0 GPA as a human resource management major. The Hanna City, Ill. native garnered a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honor to mark the first conference postseason award of her career. She was one of two Ramblers to start and play in all 53 games this spring, and led Loyola in batting average (.329), hits (52), runs (32), and RBI (23).
Owens posted a 3.97 overall GPA while majoring in biology. Alongside Wallace, Owens started and played all 53 games in 2025 and totaled 46 hits, 23 runs, 17 RBI and a .289 batting average.
Pepkowski graduated with a 3.67 GPA as a statistics major and was named the A-10 Pitcher of the Week two times in 2025. Halfway through the regular season, the starting pitcher surpassed 600 career strikeouts and totaled 152 in her senior campaign. Pepkowski started in 28 games while making 41 apperances, in which she pitched 180.2 innings and recorded 14 complete games, a 5-0 shutout record and three saves.
Broniewicz finished with a 3.67 GPA and a finance degree. She posted a 9-10 record this spring and pitched 120.2 innings, capturing 74 strikeouts and the team-low 4.12 ERA.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
