Ramblers Continue Classroom Success, Two Teams Garner Perfect Multiyear APR Scores

INDIANAPOLIS - Two Loyola Chicago athletics programs achieved perfect multiyear scores in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) data released by the NCAA Tuesday. Ten Loyola teams recorded multiyear scores of 985 or higher, and 10 programs achieved a perfect 1,000 APR score for the 2023-24 year.

The four-year APR rates reflect student-athletes who attended the school between the 2020-21 and 2023-24 academic years. Women's golf and softball are the two programs posting perfect four-year scores. Men's cross country (995), men's golf (991), and men's soccer (993) were above a 900. Ten of Loyola's programs posted scores above the national average (984).

The Rambler men's basketball squad posted a multi-year rate of 976, which falls eight points above the national average.

Since its inception in 2003, Loyola has accumulated 84 perfect APR scores. In the 2023-24 academic year alone, 10 programs achieved single-year perfect scores of 1,000, including men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, men's track, men's volleyball, women's golf, softball, women's soccer, and women's volleyball.

Every NCAA DI team across the country calculates its APR each academic year using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For schools that do not offer scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.

The Academic Performance Program provides a crucial framework for academic excellence by setting measurable goals to ensure schools equip student-athletes with the necessary tools and resources to succeed academically.

APRs for each team are available online through the NCAA's searchable database.
