CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago men's volleyball head coach
Shane Davis completed the 2026 roster with the signing of Copenhagen native Oskar Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen joins the Ramblers alongside freshmen Ayden Deslauriers and Ryan Roginski, and transfers Aleksandar Sosa and Josh Schellinger, who were all announced earlier this year.
"We're incredibly excited about our incoming signing class; it's one of the most dynamic and well-rounded groups we've brought in. Oskar Mikkelsen brings elite international experience and an unmatched size at 7-foot-2, fresh off a Nordic Cup title and a senior national team debut for Denmark. Our other two freshmen, Ayden and Ryan, are also rising talents with tremendous upside. Josh and Aleksandar, our two transfers, are seasoned competitors and will be explosive for our offense/front line. We're proud to welcome this group to Loyola and can't wait to get to work."
With Gentofte Volley, Mikkelsen averaged 1.7 points/set, 0.3 aces/set, 1.2 Kills/set, 0.6 blocks/set and has a float ace percentage of 10.4 and a 68.1 kill percentage. In 2025, Mikkelsen made his debut on the senior national team and won silver at the Danish Volleyball Cup then went on to clinch the Nordic Cup which qualified the squad for the CEV Men's European Volleyball Championship. Prior to, Mikkelsen and his team placed first at the U20 Danish Championship and finished third in the Danish Cup and in the league in 2024.
