WASHINGTON – Miles Rubin is named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team after the league announced all-conference awards ahead of the tournament tipping off in Pittsburgh Wednesday morning.
 
Rubin holds a 3.513 GPA as a communications studies major.
 
The junior center ended the regular season averaging 10.9 points per game on 59 percent from the field. He also leads Loyola with 7.0 rebounds per game and adds 2.2 steals and 2.4 blocks per game.
 
Earlier this season, Rubin broke Loyola's all-time block record. He has 236 and counting this season. His 177^th block rewrote history. Rubin also holds the top three spots on the single-season records list. His 85 blocks last season ranks first, his 76 as a freshman ranks second, and his 75 as a junior ranks third. Rubin currently ranks 10^th in the nation in blocks per game (2.39) and 11^th in total blocks (75).
 
Rubin has 17 double-figure scoring performances this season and 10 games with at least 10 boards grabbed. He has six double-doubles this season, which ranks fourth in the A-10.
