Bianca Smith

Bianca Smith is set to begin her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Loyola University Chicago women's basketball program. Smith comes to Rogers Park from the University of Pittsburgh, where she served as the team's Director of Basketball Operations.

"Bianca is the wildcard on our staff," Loyola University Chicago head women's basketball coach Kate Achter said. "She has an amazing personality that recruits and their parents will love, and she is also incredibly detail oriented on the court. She is a student of the game and will be able to provide our players with valuable knowledge and advice from her own playing days. Bianca is the perfect complement to our already dynamic staff."

Prior to her stint in the Steel City, Smith spent three years at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The Missouri City, Texas product was the team's Video Coordinator in 2011-12 before being elevated into an assistant coaching role.

Before beginning her collegiate coaching career with Texas Southern as a graduate assistant in 2011-12, Smith was a four-year letterwinner on the women's basketball team at Colorado. The 5-foot-9 guard finished her time as a Buffalo as the school's all-time leader in both three pointers made and attempted and earned Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year honors following her senior season. Smith went on to play professionally in Lithuania for one season.

"Words cannot adequately express my gratitude to Coach Achter and the Loyola administration for giving me this opportunity," Smith commented. "I am beyond excited to be a Loyola Rambler! I am so thankful for this chance to use my basketball acumen to help better these student-athletes and this program. I look forward to assisting Kate and the rest of the staff in getting to a championship level. I know that Coach Achter is going to do great things here and I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of it."

Smith graduated from the University of Colorado in 2010, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.
