In his role as Assistant Athletics Director for Content Development and Broadcast Operations, Austin Hansen provides leadership in the creation, production, and management of Loyola University Chicago’s video content. He oversees all aspects of broadcast services for digital platforms, ensuring high-quality productions for Loyola’s digital broadcasts, promotional platforms, and social media channels. Additionally, Hansen develops innovative digital content strategies to enhance the visibility of Loyola Athletics through platforms such as LoyolaRamblers.com and various social media outlets.

A Cedar Falls, Iowa native, Hansen gained national recognition as the lead content creator during the Ramblers’ historic 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four run. Over the course of his career, he has captured nine NCAA tournament games for the Loyola Ramblers, showcasing his ability to tell compelling stories on one of the sport’s biggest stages. Hansen has also served as the lead content creator for Loyola Basketball Team Chaplain, the beloved Sister Jean, whose story became an integral part of Loyola’s basketball narrative. His contributions to storytelling extend to being credited in The Loyola Project, a documentary chronicling the historic journey of the 1963 Loyola Men’s Basketball team.

Before returning to the Midwest, Hansen served as the Director of New Media at Tulane University Athletics, where he led initiatives in digital branding and creative media. As an undergraduate at the University of Northern Iowa, Hansen honed his skills as a media and communications intern with the athletics department. His contributions earned him the prestigious honor of being named UNI’s Student Employee of the Year in 2015. These early experiences laid the foundation for his expertise in media production, branding, and athletics communication.

Hansen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling, attending Chicago Cubs games, spending time with his family, and competing in film competitions with his creative team, Morning Run Productions. With a strong background in digital media innovation and storytelling, Hansen continues to drive the evolution of Loyola Athletics’ multimedia presence, blending creativity and strategy to connect with audiences and showcase the Ramblers’ success.
