Dr. Amy Bohnert was named the Faculty Athletic Representative for Loyola Chicago in the summer of 2024.
Dr. Bohnert is a Professor of Psychology at Loyola who has more than 50 publications focused on how various contextual influences promote health and well-being among children and adolescents.
Since starting at Loyola in 2002, she also has served as a program evaluation consultant designing and conducting multi-method evaluations to examine the effectiveness of after-school and summer programs, green schoolyards, as well as community-based initiatives to improve health and well-being among youth and families.
A guiding principle of her work is translatability with an emphasis on research that informs policy and practice recommendations to reduce health disparities among youth. Dr. Bohnert is also a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with student athletes at various points in her career.
In her “former” life, she was a swimmer at the University of Michigan where she earned three Big-Ten team championships.
