Emily Belcher

Emily Belcher joined Loyola University Chicago as an associate athletic trainer after spending more than a decade at Northern Illinois University. From 2014 to 2023, she served as the athletic trainer for the Huskies’ women’s volleyball and softball programs, and was promoted to associate athletic trainer in July 2022. Her primary sport responsibility at NIU was women’s volleyball.

In addition to her clinical duties, Belcher served as an adjunct instructor and preceptor for athletic training students in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education. She previously worked with NIU’s women’s volleyball and softball programs as a graduate athletic trainer from 2012 to 2014.

Belcher earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Central Michigan University in 2012. She later completed a Master of Education in sports psychology (2014) and a Master of Science in sport management (2015), both from Northern Illinois University. She is certified in integrative dry needling (foundations level), cupping therapy, and is a certified American Red Cross Basic Life Support instructor. Her past experience also includes an athletic training internship with Saint Joseph’s University women’s lacrosse program in 2012.
