Mary Boyd joined the Rambler athletic staff in January 2024 as the Associate Athletic Director of Development. Boyd comes to Loyola after serving as the Associate Director of Development at Northwestern University since 2019.
While at Northwestern, Boyd served as a gift officer on the university’s “Chicago Team” to identify and steward donors for the major gifts program ($100k+). She helped represent all the undergraduate and professional schools, units, programs and centers including athletics.
Prior to NU, Boyd worked with Miami University (Ohio) in employer relations to help develop relationships with Chicago-area employers to facilitate the recruitment of Miami University students.
Boyd also served as the first Regional Director of Development for Chicago for Miami where she helped strengthen the relationship between Miami and the 10,000+ alumni and donors in the region. She also increased the level of personal engagement of alumni and friends to augment the major gift program.
Before switching to the university side, Boyd started in Northwestern Athletics holding several external relations positions in development and marketing spanning over a decade. She was Assistant Athletic Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing into the early 2000s and oversaw the corporate sales and marketing plans for all 18 varsity sports including football, volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball. She then served as the inaugural General Manager of Wildcat Sports Marketing to secure corporate sponsorships through the school’s initial rights-holder agreement.
Boyd earned her Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Political Science and Spanish and was a member of the softball team. She also holds a Master's in Sport Management from University of Massachusetts – Amherst. Mary and her husband Doug have three children – Abbey, Dutcher and Kylie.
