HUNTLEY, Ill. - Loyola University Chicago sophomore Kaitlin Kearney turned in another solid performance, shooting a four-over-par 76 for the second straight day to help the Ramblers finish tied for eighth place at the NIU Huskie Classic, which concluded today. Southern Illinois rallied to slip past host Northern Illinois, 610-611.
Kearney's 36-hole score of 152 placed her sixth overall, just seven shots behind medalist Josie Lowder of Southern Illinois (72-73=145). Rambler freshman Lucy McGovern continued her solid play, registering an 81 today to finish tied for 24th with a 160 (79-81). Michelle Puch (84-82) tied for 37th and rookie Megan Sujack, playing for Rachael Sinnen, who was battling flu-like symptoms, fired a 173 (84-89) to tie for 50th. Jaclyn Zembrodt finished with a 181 (87-94).
Loyola is back in action next week when it participates in the Detroit Titans Invitational at Western Golf and Country Club in Redford, Mich., Oct. 9-10.
