KEWADIN, Mich. –
Cassie Psuik led the Ramblers to open the 2025-26 women's golf season at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational. She posted a 10
th place finish, helping Loyola Chicago take sixth as a squad.
Psuik was five-over-par on the weekend. She shot 75 in both the first and third rounds and a 71 in the second round. She posted a round score of 71 twice last season. The Ramblers finished with a team score of 910 (308-298-304).
"It was a total team effort this weekend," said head coach
Brandy Johnston. "For the first time since February 2024, we posted a team score under 300 on a par-72 course, which was a big milestone for us. On top of that, several players recorded career-best rounds, which really showed the depth and progress of our team. Lots of positives to build off as we head into Illinois State next weekend."
Reese Kite made her debut in the line-up for the Ramblers. She tied for 42
nd on the leaderboards with a score of 232 (81-74-77).
Madison Haugen (76-84-73) and
Teagan Connors (76-78-79) trailed by a stroke both scoring 233 to place 48
th in the event. Haugen's round of 73 marks a new personal best.
Rounding out the team play was
Grace Durkin in 59
th. She scored 241 (83-75-83). Her round of 75 was just one stroke off of her career-best round score.
Loyola had three Ramblers competing as individuals.
Grace Hui led the pack, finishing tied for 25
th with a score of 227 (75-78-74).
Reese Clark fell 57
th in the standings, scoring 239 (85-74-80). Her second-round score of 74 matches her career-best round score.
Maureen O'Leary wrapped up play with a score of 243 (80-81-82).
Loyola continues fall play at the Redbird Invitational on Sept. 7-8.
