Box Score

EVANSTON, Ill. - Sixteenth ranked Northwestern (31-10) hit three home runs, two by shortstop Tammy Williams, to earn an 8-0 victory over Loyola University Chicago (11-34) this afternoon at Drysdale Field. Loyola managed only one hit on the day, a bunt single by centerfielder Tara Miller in the third inning.

The Wildcats jumped on the board in the first inning, loading the bases courtesy of a pair of walks and a single before Jamie Dotson's sacrifice fly plated Williams. Northwestern added three more runs in the second on Williams' solo home run over the fence in left center field and RBI singles by Sheila McCorkle and Erin Dyer, to stake right-hander Courtnay Foster to a 4-0 lead. Foster struck out nine Ramblers on the day.

Loyola resumes Horizon League action this weekend when it travels to Wright State for a three-game series.
