IOWA CITY, Iowa - Sophomore Kaitlin Kearney fired an 84 today in the final round of play at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate at Finkbine Golf Course, as Loyola University Chicago placed seventh in the nine-team field. The Ramblers, playing in their first tournament of the fall, posted a team score of 1,030, while host Iowa (933) held off Missouri State (943) to capture the title.
Freshman Lucy McGovern carded a 251 (87-77-87) to lead the Ramblers with a 23rd-place effort, while Kearney finished 28th with a 255 (87-84-84). Kearney's round of 84 today was the best by a Rambler on the afternoon. Junior Michelle Puch tied for 30th with a 258 (86-79-93), senior Rachael Sinnen placed 39th with a 266 (87-85-94) and rookie Megan Sujack finished 47th with a 281 (92-95-94) in her first meet as a Rambler.
Loyola is back in action at the WIU Autumn Invitational, Sept. 17-18 in Macomb, Ill.
