Loyola Takes Fifth Place At Horizon League Championships

LEBANON, Ohio - Lucy McGovern and Kaitlin Kearney each placed among the top ten individuals as Loyola University Chicago captured fifth place at the Horizon League Women's Golf Championship, which concluded today at Shaker Run Golf Course. The Ramblers notched a team tally of 339 today and finished the 54-hole event with a score of 1,033, just one stroke behind Cleveland State and four strokes behind Youngstown State. Butler captured the title with a 1,002.

Kearney, who posted 10 pars today shot an 81, her best score of the tournament, the best by a Rambler this afternoon and the second-lowest by any golfer on the day, to finish tied for ninth with a 255 (91-83-81) while McGovern carded an 83 today to finish seventh with a 252 (77-92-83).

Michelle Puch placed 14th with a 260 (82-92-86), Rachael Sinnen finished 20th with a 266 (91-86-89) and Megan Sujack captured 25th place with a 281 (94-97-90) to complete the Loyola lineup.

Paige McCracken of Butler earned medalist honors, posting a three-round score of 246 (85-81-80) to finish one stroke ahead of teammates Nike Garden and Lauren Showers.
