Men's Soccer Ties Cincinnati 0-0 After Double Overtime

CHICAGO - Loyola (1-0-1) put up a strong defensive battle, but was unable to produce anything offensively, tying host Cincinnati 0-0 (1-0-1) on Monday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper Brian Byrne recorded four saves in 110 minutes of play for the Ramblers.

Despite being unable to register a goal, Loyola's offense did have its share of scoring opportunities, tallying six shots on goal to the Bearcats' four. The Ramblers were led by junior Michael Ferguson, who had three shots all of which were on goal, while fellow junior Mark Halma added three shots of his own and one on goal. Loyola also recorded seven corner kicks, including two in the first overtime, while not allowing any to Cincinnati.

Men's soccer returns to action at Denver on Sept. 5 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
