COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 11 Maryland on Tuesday night (Oct. 6). The Ramblers (3-3-3) were out shot by the Terrapins (6-3-1), 20-7, including an 8-1 margin in the first half.

Maryland's Kaoru Forbess scored the lone goal of the match in the 26th minute, sending a header off of a cross from Kwame Darko past sophomore goalkeeper Peter McKeown for the score. McKeown finished the contest with four saves for the Ramblers.

Despite producing more opportunities in the second half, the Ramblers were blanked by a tough Terrapin defense. Senior Eric Gehrig led the offensive attack for Loyola with two shots.

Loyola returns to Horizon League play this Saturday (Oct. 10) when the Ramblers travel to Milwaukee to take on the Panthers at 6 p.m. CT.
