CHARLESTON - The Loyola University Chicago softball team concluded day two of the Holy City Showdown with a 5-0 loss to Dartmouth. Ashley Parenti led the Ramblers, recording two of the team's four hits, including a double.
Both teams were held scoreless until Dartmouth's bats came alive in the top of the second. The Big Green led off the inning with a home run to take an early 1-0 lead, followed by back-to-back doubles to knock in another run. After two consecutive walks, Ashley Rogers entered the game for Madison Hope and gave up a two-run single before closing the inning with back-to-back groundouts.
The Big Green struck again in the top of the fifth, scoring a run on an RBI double to increase the lead and ultimately win the game, 5-0.
The Ramblers wrap up action at the Holy City Showdown tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. CT against Liberty.
