CHICAGO - Sami Hansen (Bennington, Neb./Bennington) was selected to the Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball All-Tournament Team it was announced Saturday night at the conclusion of the tournament. This is the second such honor for Hansen who was also named to the 2015 MVC All-Tournament Team.

In Loyola University Chicago’s loss to No. 3 seed and host Northern Iowa on November 24, the senior middle blocker tied for the team lead with seven kills and added two blocks. Hansen was a Second Team All-MVC selection as a junior in 2015 and this season totaled 186 kills (1.55 per set), a team-best 109 blocks (0.91 per set) and hit .211 (186-85-479).

Joining Hansen on the 2016 MVC All-Tournament Team were Nellie Fredrikson (Southern Illinois), Aly Dawson (Illinois State), Amie Held (Northern Iowa), Lynsey Wright (Missouri State), Cambree Villarreal (Missouri State), Emily Hiebert (Wichita State), Tabitha Brown (Wichita State) and Jody Larson (Wichita State), who was named most valuable player.

Loyola finished the 2016 season with a 14-18 overall record and matched a program record with nine MVC wins.
