In Short...
Visiting Loyola used a 13-1, second-half run to turn a four-point game into a 16-point game and never looked back, topping Missouri State, 75-62, this afternoon at JQH Arena.

The Ramblers move back to .500 overall and enter the last week of the regular season at 14-14 (7-9 MVC).

How It Happened...
+ Loyola got off to a terrific start, with Turk knocking down two three-pointers and Ben Richardson adding a third triple as the Ramblers opened the game by scoring 11 of the first 13 points
+ Missouri State answered the run with one of its own, using a 17-4 run to take a 19-15 lead midway through the half
+ The Bears led by as many as six and enjoyed a 27-21 lead before Loyola closed the half strong, using an 9-2 spurt to regain the lead and take a 32-31 lead into the locker room at halftime
+ Missouri State stormed out of the blocks in the second half, opening a four-point lead after a Cam Boone basket and Chris Kendrix three-pointer
+ Richardson answered with a three-pointer and Turk added another after a Boone basket to make it a 38-38 game
+ Loyola kept pushing and took a four-point lead on a basket from Montel James five minutes into the half
+ Consecutive hoops later from Jeff White and Milton Doyle helped the Ramblers build the lead to eight (51-43) before Missouri State rallied, drawing within four on a Jarred Dixon three-point play
+ However, Richardson found Turk for another trey that kickstarted the game-changing, 13-1 spurt that ended with Loyola leading 66-50 with 4:51 left
+ Turk had eight points in the spurt and set up Julius Rajala with a pretty pass for two more as Loyola took control
+ Missouri State would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way, as Loyola was able to control tempo and seal the victory

Inside The Box Score
+ Loyola has now won three consecutive Valley road games (SIU, Bradley, Missouri State), the first time that the Ramblers have won three straight away from home in conference play since the 2006-07 season (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Butler)
+ Turk finished 7-of-10 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from downtown, en route to his fourth 20-point game of the season and third in the last seven outings
+ James who racked up his fifth double-double of the Valley season with 14 points and 10 rebounds, was outstanding in the second half, posting 12 of his points and eight of his boards after halftime
+ Doyle gave Loyola a third double-digit scorer, persevering through a tough shooting night to finish with 12 points and five rebounds with only one turnover in 29 minutes
+ Donte Ingram ripped down a career-high nine rebounds while Earl Peterson matched his career-best mark with six assists
+ Protecting the ball was important, as Loyola turned it over eight times in the first half but just twice in the second half, when it racked up 43 points
