In Short...
Hannah Jenkins ripped a RBI-single with two outs in the fifth and that is all Kiley Jones would need as Loyola wrapped up play at the Camel Stampede with a 1-0 win over Appalachian State.

Jones scattered four hits and fanned a season-high nine batters en route to her fifth win of the year.

Coach Tylka Says...
"Kiley did an outstanding job today of making it tough on their hitters while also coming up with big pitches when she needed them. Offensively, we struggled a bit today but we were able to get one and Kiley was able to make it stand up."

How It Happened
+ Loyola put a runner in scoring position in the top of the first after a two-out single and stolen base from Brooke Wyderski but the Ramblers could not get her in
+ Jones had to pitch out of a jam in the third, as Appalachian State put a runner on third with one out, but she got a big strikeout for the second out and induced a come-backer to end the threat
+ The Ramblers did not get another base runner until Brooke Wilson led off the fourth with a single, but she was called out for leaving early on a steal attempt
+ Loyola made a lead-off walk to Kasubke in the fifth count, as Jordyn Cordell moved her to second with a sacrifice bunt and, after a strikeout, Jenkins delivered her clutch hit to center field to get the Ramblers on the board
+ Jones struck out the side in the bottom of the inning and retired 10 straight hitters before ASU recorded back-to-back singles with two outs in the sixth
+ She came up with a big strikeout to get out of that inning and pitched around a two-out, infield single in the seventh to close out the victory

Inside The Box Score
+ Wyderski's first-inning single extended her hitting streak to 21 games dating back to last season
+ Jones fanned a season-high nine batters against just one walk en route to her second shutout of the weekend
+ With the performance, she has allowed just one run over her last 22 innings pitched (0.32 ERA)
+ Jenkins came into the game with one hit in eight at-bats this weekend but delivered the clutch hit, her seventh RBI this season
+ Loyola allowed just two runs over its four games this weekend, with both coming on one hit in the first inning of yesterday's game against Marshall
+ The lead-off free pass to Kasubke was Loyola's only walk of the afternoon but the Ramblers made it count
